RPG Thunder: Roguelike RPG for Discord and the Browser
A Free Game and a Live Wiki That Only Knows What Players Have Found

RPG Thunder is a free, turn-based roguelike that runs inside Discord and in a browser tab. Your hero walks east through 26 cities, from Ashsquare to Zenterlaw. When they die, they stay dead, and the next hero inherits what you learned. It’s my own project, so the game design, the site, the bot and the wiki are all mine.
How it plays
- Runs. Each expedition is a route map of 6 to 10 stops: fights, elites, events, camps and treasure. It ends at a gate boss.
- Combat. Enemies show their next move before they make it. You answer with one of four abilities.
- Classes. You start as a Warrior. Beating a city’s gate boss unlocks the Cleric or the Mage, and five more classes stay hidden until someone earns them.
- Death. A dead hero stays dead. Class unlocks, life skills and one heirloom carry over, and every death gets an obituary in the server’s graveyard channel.
- Parties. Up to four players can run an expedition together. Gate bosses scale with the party, and loot is settled with Need, Greed or Pass rolls.
- Stamina. The pool holds 120, enough for a check-in or two a day.
- Money. The store sells cosmetics only: themes and portrait frames. Nothing you can buy touches stats, loot or odds.
One hero, two places
Your character lives on your Discord account. Start a fight in a server channel or a DM, then finish it at play.rpgthunder.com after signing in with Discord. Progress syncs both ways. In Discord, combat updates in place with buttons, and boss kills and rare drops post to the whole server so everyone sees them.
The wiki
The RPG Thunder wiki reads live from the game, and it only publishes what a player has actually found.
- An enemy gets a page the first time anyone meets it. An ability appears the first time anyone sees it used.
- Deeper stats unlock as the whole community racks up kills. The Forest Wolf page, for example, says how many kills are left before it reveals how often the wolf picks each ability.
- Cities nobody has reached yet show up as
???. - The first player to find something is named on its page. Players who’d rather stay anonymous can switch that off with
/settings wiki_creditin Discord.
Nobody types the numbers in. Every stat on the page comes straight from the game, so the wiki is a record of what the community has learned, not a guide someone wrote up front. It also carries the how-to-play guides, leaderboards and obituaries.
Design approach
Deep navy, one yellow accent, heavy italic display type, and painted portraits for heroes and enemies. The main site and the wiki share the same look, so moving from one to the other reads as one product. The landing page leads with a plain promise: your hero is going to die.
Outcome
RPG Thunder is live at rpgthunder.com, with the wiki at wiki.rpgthunder.com. The wiki fills in as people play, and the empty ??? rows are part of the pitch.
